About Beat

Beat is the UK’s eating disorder charity. We exist to end the pain and suffering caused by eating disorders. We are a champion, guide and friend to anyone affected, giving individuals experiencing an eating disorder and their loved ones a place where they feel listened to, supported and empowered.

Summary

The purpose of the post is to maximise income for Beat’s work from trust and statutory sources, by the creation of high-quality applications and reports to funders and by providing excellent account management and cross-team collaboration.

Description

Historically, over 85% of Beat’s income derives from public donations and other kinds of voluntary sources. Income from Trusts, Foundations and Statutory sources form a vital part of our voluntary income, around £780k in 2019/20 and likely to be over £1m this year. We have succeeded in gaining the support of many well-known funders, such as the National Lottery, Children in Need and Garfield Weston Foundation. We have a very experienced trusts officer who in recent times has been supported by a freelance bid writer. But going forward, we wish to make this a team of two, within Partnerships section, working together on an expanded programme and deepening our relationship with these trusts. High quality training available for candidates entering fundraising for the first time.
