We are looking for a Senior Support Worker to join the team at Robins, our 10 bed Residential & Respite Home in Dartington.
Children and young people with learning disabilities and their families are at the heart of everything we do and we want every person we support to have a great life, with excellent outcomes. We couldn’t achieve that without all the great Support Workers who join our care teams. It all starts with you!
There is no such thing as a ‘typical’ Support Worker. Our staff come from lots of different backgrounds, people with little or no experience but want a job that involves helping people, those who want a change of career, as well as experienced Support Workers.
The one thing that links all of them together is their desire to work with young people with learning disabilities, make their lives better and help them to learn something new or take a further step towards independence. Our Support Workers certainly don’t see what they do as ‘just another job’.
No two days will be the same as you will get involved in a variety of different tasks and activities whilst helping the young people to learn the skills they need to live the life they choose.
Ideally, you will have previous experience in this sector and must hold a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
Defined as a “Good” provider by Ofsted, Robins are looking for “Outstanding” staff who will deliver support in a professional, caring way. In return, we can offer an excellent range of staff benefits including 28 days’ annual leave pro rata, a company pension scheme, childcare vouchers, staff discount scheme, ongoing training and supervision, continuing professional development and support, as well as an extensive induction on commencement of employment. Lifeworks are also accredited Disability Confident Employers.
Lifeworks is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young adults and we expect all staff to share this commitment. For this post, pre-employment checks will be carried out, references will be sought and successful candidates will need to undertake an enhanced DBS check.
