About Helen Bamber Foundation (HBF)

The Helen Bamber Foundation (HBF) is a pioneering Human Rights charity supporting refugees and asylum seekers who are the survivors of extreme human cruelty

Comprising teams of medical, legal and therapy professionals, we support survivors through therapeutic care, medical consultation, legal protection and practical support and have built an excellent international reputation for doing so.

Users of our services come from over 90 countries and often face ongoing problems relating to poverty, destitution or unsafe housing in addition to their physical and mental trauma and complex, confusing legal procedures. We work on a ‘here and now’ basis to treat each person with dignity and help them with access to health care, legal advice and human rights.

To support our work, we are now seeking a Grants Manager to join us on a full-time, permanent basis and support the funding for our mission.

The Benefits

- Salary of up to £36,000 (negotiable)
- Support survivors of human rights violations

If you are a communicative, proactive grants fundraising professional with deep experience of delivering charitable trusts and foundations income, this is an exciting, income delivering role that will ensure the success of our charity.

Playing a key role in the growth and development of this area of fundraising, you’ll be ensuring that we can help even more people and continue to make a difference and turn lives around.

So, if you are eager to further develop your career whilst supporting our pioneering charity and helping to give survivors the strength to move on, we’re waiting to hear from you.

The Role

In this vital role, you will work alongside a small and highly collaborative team to develop and grow this area of fundraising and deliver ambitious, but achievable income targets.

Reporting to the Head of Fundraising and Communications, you will:

- Develop and implement a robust strategy for raising income from trusts and corporate foundations with a specific focus on securing large grants (over £50,000 p/a)
- React and respond creatively to the operational and financial needs of the charity
- Undertake prospect research
- Develop bespoke proposals (including complex budgets)
- Steward existing funding relationships
- Drive new business
- Report on grants, including the management of data required for measurement and evaluation
