Home Based (working from our London office when restrictions allow)
We are FareShare, the UK’s largest charity fighting hunger and food waste. We are a charitable distribution network that takes excess, in-date and good to eat food and redistributes it to other charities that turn it into meals.

We are looking for a Finance Operations Manager to join our team in a critical capacity for our continued success. Initially, this role will be home-based however it is envisaged that you will work from our London office when we are able,

As the Finance Operations Manager, you will join our Finance Department and take on a broad range of responsibilities that will enable our continuing financial capability.
Specifically, you will lead the transactional accounting team of four which oversees the day-to-day operation of the accounts payable and receivable ledgers. You will support the team’s professional development, provide them with direction and ensure they are effectively managed.
Supporting the Head of Finance in the development of the wider Finance Team, you will update processes and documentation and act as the face of the customer-focused Finance Department.
Additionally, you will play an important role in the continuing development of the finance system we have recently introduced.
The key focuses of your role will be to manage and monitor:
- The day-to-day accounts payable and receivable activities
- Month-end processes
- Cash flow
- Bank reconciliations
- Accounting records
To be considered as the Finance Operations Manager, you will need:
- An accounting qualification such as AAT, late-stage ACCA or equivalent
- Experience of managing and developing junior staff
- Broad experience of working across a finance function including preparing bank and other reconciliations, sales invoicing and credit control, payment runs and managing suppliers. Direct experience in every area is not necessary but the candidate would need to be able to demonstrate the ability to learn and a general understanding of the important factors in each
- Experience of developing and improving process and controls
- Excellent communication skills
Experience of working in a Charity/Not-for-Profit financial environment would be highly beneficial, but not essential, to your application.
