The British Liver Trust is the leading UK charity for adults with liver disease, with patients at our heart and a forward-looking influencing agenda.  Our key goals include campaigning for early detection and for better treatment, and working in partnership to drive up standards of care. We have an ambitious plan for growth, and fundraising is at the heart of that plan.

The Digital DM Officer is a new post designed to help grow fundraising through the acquisition of new donors, primarily through digital recruitment, and the retention of those donors through email supporter journeys and online engagement tools, complementing the existing traditional direct marketing programme.

  • Proficient in managing all aspects of individual giving, including acquisition, welcome, retention and donor development activity
  • Commitment to creating genuine value through communications with supporters

Key Responsibilities

Increase supporters through digital recruitment and retention:

  • Maximise the effectiveness of current digital fundraising activity to identify potential supporters, develop relationships with them, and support them to raise money online for British Liver Trust
  • Analyse results from, and make recommendations for, future digital fundraising campaigns to maximise revenue streams for British Liver Trust’s work

Maximise retention and lifetime value of current donor file:

  • Plan and deliver an effective, balanced calendar of communications to deliver annual growth in net income and lifetime value from all individual prospect audiences
  • Develop, test, evaluate and refine British Liver Trust’s propositions, ensuring we effectively convey the difference donors’ support is making
  • Plan and manage activity across email, search, social, British Liver Trust’s website, as well as incorporating traditional methods including print, post and telephone fundraising
  • Identify prospects interested in or who have potential for, other fundraising areas e.g. Community Fundraising, In Memoriam and Major Donors (as well as healthcare professionals and others) and work with colleagues to transfer the supporter journey
  • Work with external agencies such as telephone fundraising, as part of a donor retention strategy

Reporting and data analysis

  • Ensure information systems are up to date and provide an accurate picture of supporter segmentation, communications, preferences, permissions, requests, gifts and pledges
