Cambridge University Development and Alumni Relations is the fundraising and alumni engagement arm of the University. It has responsibility for raising major philanthropic gifts from alumni and non-alumni sources, and for encouraging lifelong relationships and building links between the University, its alumni and supporters; Building on the success of the University's 800th Anniversary Campaign - the first European university campaign to raise £1 billion philanthropically - the current campaign for the University and Colleges of Cambridge, launched in October 2015, focuses on the University's impact on the world and will work with philanthropists to address major global problems. As of January 2021, the £2 billion campaign (www.cam.ac.uk/YoursCambridge) has already raised £1.83 billion towards its total.
We are looking for a Development Project Manager to join an exciting, fast paced team. As a member of the Major Gifts - University Strategic Initiatives fundraising team you will provide operational, project and communications support to the Director of Development, University Strategic Initiatives, Senior Associate Directors and Associate Directors within the team.
You will manage a variety of diverse projects within the Strategic Initiatives portfolio as they relate to the delivery of our campaign fundraising priorities. You will build, maintain and manage a project plan which consolidates and sequences all of the various components of development related activities to ensure successful delivery of each project.
You will manage communications relating to Strategic Initiatives projects, including drafting documents, preparing relevant collateral, liaising with colleagues throughout the University, providing information to a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
With experience of coordinating multiple projects at the same time, you will have excellent interpersonal and organisational skills with the ability to work effectively on your own initiative and as a member of a team, often operating under pressure and to tight deadlines.
This role is based in central Cambridge, however the successful candidate may need to work remotely in the first instance. This can be discussed at interview.
